I just saw the McQueen exhibit at the Met today and loved the idea of the spray painted dress and the chess board fashion show representing a chess game of Japan vs. US. Watch this video to see both.

Icons and Designers
After reading an interview on style.com about the Olsen twins their professional attitude and seriousness in their craft were brought to my attention. Handling both the financial and creative sides of several fashion labels, the two have accomplished more than meets the eye. After looking further into Elizabeth and James and The Row I found many of the items wearable and stylish. I love the clean cut, sleek and minimalist feel of some items as well as the accessibility and effortless look of style. I will definitely be adding some of these pieces to my wardrobe. Here are some of my favorite looks from Elizabeth and James.

Here are two pictures I styled in one of my FIT courses.

Betsey Johnson theme place setting. I used cheetah, black, and pink to highlight Betsey's signature style. And used lipstick and mascara in place of a fork and knife to show Betsey's fun and girly side. |

Florence Welch
Florence + The Machine has landed itself a nomination for best new artist this year, but music is not the only subject the band has been recognized for. Florence Welch, the lead singer, has been noticed for her unique boho, vintage style. Florence's look has been so influential in the fashion world that Mulberry payed a tribute to Florence by sending its models down the runway with matching red hair in its latest fashion show.
